New Tech Laboratory Services
At AVC Global Services, we recognize the uniqueness of our customer's laboratory environment. Every member of our management team has worked in this environment to design, develop, install, and test next generation transport, data or software products. Labs are highly structured and disciplined sites where strict engineering and installation rules must be observed. That's critical because it enables the frenetic activity and churn that comes with testing new technology without compromising the projects in the rest of the lab. New, hopefully stable, products and prototypes from a variety of vendors across multiple technologies are introduced or removed on a regular basis. Maintaining the testing schedules is paramount, so time frames are often compressed, flexibility is mandatory, and the highest quality workmanship is assumed.

A large service provider with a global footprint wanted to consolidate its new technology laboratories. AVC was contracted to relocate 35 equipment bays plus associated equipment from one lab to another. Working closely with lab personnel, the bays, cables, and equipment were carefully cataloged and labeled: then powered down, uninstalled and packaged for shipment. Keeping the bays intact as units simplified the installation at the new location.
The bays contained routers, broadband access equipment, video switches, optical transport equipment, a PBX, digital cross-connects, and test sets. In performing the work, the AVC team engineered and installed all of the necessary cable racking, cross-aisle racking, aisle lighting and fiber protection system ducts. And, then re-installed the equipment bays. The four battery distribution plants, including control/distribution frames and battery strings were also relocated to the new lab.
Ten weeks later the lab was up and running in it's new home. The customer was so impressed with the care and exactness of the work that AVC continues to provide engineering and installation services as they add metro DWDM, SONET, SDH, digital cross-connect, and router equipment.

They are trained across multiple technologies and products, Telcordia 1275 certified, and experienced with the conventions of laboratory environments. We engineer and install all infrastructure elements, including power distribution plants, cable racking, aisle lighting and fiber protection systems, as well as the next generation equipment. Since we are a vendor-agnostic services company, we can work on all vendors' products and we understand the need to protect each vendor's intellectual property. Our lab technicians are always on-call and available to work flexible hours so your testing and development projects can proceed unimpeded. Besides engineering and installation, we also offer test and turn-up and equipment moves and removal services.
